Formaldehyde (also known as alpha-Oxone, alpha-oxide, oxygen-methyl, formaldehyde, oxygen-methane) is a flammable gas that is colorless at room temperature.
It has a sharp, unique smell that can cause burning to the eyes, nose and lungs.
Formaldehyde can react with many other chemicals and at very high temperatures it breaks down into a mixture of wood alcohol and carbon monoxide.
Although it is harmless when it naturally produces a very small amount in our body, but it can also be found in the air we breathe at home and at work (ie smoke, car exhaust tobacco, gas cookers, open fireplace, fertilizer, latex, leather, paper, plywood, in artificial wood products), in the food we eat (ie preservatives), in some products we put on the skin (ie preservatives, medicines, cosmetics, dishes-

The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) estimates that 1,329,332 people in the United States may be exposed to formaldehyde.
This is especially correct if you are a doctor, nurse, dentist, vet, pathologist, embalmer, worker in the garment industry or furniture factory, worker in the chemical plant, or, if you are a teacher or student who handles preserved specimens in a laboratory.
Formaldehyde can enter your body in a number of ways, including inhaling, drinking or consuming formaldehyde, or engaging formaldehyde with your skin.
Formaldehyde is quickly absorbed from the upper part of the nose and lungs.
It is also quickly absorbed whenever it is eaten or drunk.
Once absorbed, almost every tissue in your body can quickly decompose formaldehyde into non-formaldehyde

Research has shown that exposure to large amounts of formaldehyde can also cause cancer in the nose and throat.
All of this provides a core case for us to reduce formaldehyde exposure.
Some way to do this is to open the window or use a fan to bring fresh air into your home.
You should also remove as many formaldehyde sources from your home as possible.
This includes not smoking indoors (or not at all) or using portable kerosene heaters without ventilation.
Of course, a small amount of formaldehyde is also found in many consumer goods.
To reduce exposure to formaldehyde when using these products, you should try to use them near the source of fresh air.
If this is not possible then you should at least make sure you have enough ventilation when you use them.
If you choose to purchase a product made of plywood or scrap boards, expose it to a large amount of fresh air or make sure it is covered with plastic laminate or coated around it.
When you buy a permanent pressed fabric, you should wash it before wearing these new clothes.
Unfortunately, there is no reliable test yet to determine how much formaldehyde you are exposed to or if you will be affected by any harmful health.
Before doing more research and discovering new methods, your best practice is to follow the pre-set tips above.
